Tour Description

East Serbia truly is an interesting place, many legends, myths and reality overlap like pieces of rug that are made there for centuries. First visit is medieval monastery of Manasija that withstands through time and sieges from numerous invaders. Situated in a forest valley, it looks like a pearl on a green meadow. Every stone from the fortress tells a story of many brave warriors that defended their country and home. Inside the monastery you can see beautiful frescos made with a famous Byzantium blue color, that is to this day a mystery how it was made and how it looks fresh even after 6 centuries.
After Manasija monastery we will head deeper into the nature and literally inside the mountains. We will visit Resava cave. First cave open for public that is over 90 million years old as a part of one of the largest cave systems in Serbia. We will have an interesting walk through the eons and see pieces of art made by the most famous sculptor ever known, nature itself. Rocks in the mountain make perfect canvas and water combined with natural sediments make different images that you can not find in any museum.
Final stop is waterfall Veliki Buk that cuts the nature with interesting mix of turquoise and emerald colors. It makes perfect surrounding to stop for a second and enjoy breathtaking area with fresh mountain air and water, most important elements of life. In the end of this interesting tour, the only mystery will be how is it possible to have so many stunning and interesting places close to each other.
